Sports celebrity of city Košice 2011

Name of an absolute winner of award Sports celebrity of city Košice 2011  will be known on about 2 months. For now not even the organizational team know who will be number one. So we are for now just introducing 10 competetors for  the award.

This year there were quite a lot of succesful sports people who represented city Košice. Medal winners, Olympic qoualifiers, and representatives from most favoured collective sports in Košice. There is no special order, so we want to introduce to you the competetors for the award in alhpabetical order.

Top 10 :

Athlete Katarína Berešová run her first marathon in career in her home city, and a month later in her second marathon in Frankfurt she managed to finish in time which allows her to run at Olympic games in London. 

Body-builder Jaroslav Horváth finished 4th at the world known Olympia competition.

Slovak representative in sparring Jakub Kačeňák (ZK Košice 1904) finished 8th in the world competition.

Hockey player Ján Tabaček ( HC Košice )represents most favourite collective sport in Košice. 

Basketball player Lucia Kupčíková ( Good Angels Košice ) a woman representaative of a very succesfull team in Košice, as Good Angels are playing in Euroleague. 

Handball player Lucia Kupčíková is another representative of collective sport in Košice. 

Water polo player Peter Nižný winner of the award for the best water polo player of the Slovak republic, playing for team ČH Hornets Košice, also a team playing in European league.

Kickboxer Ladislav Tóth who brought to Košice silver medal from this years world championship.

Orientational running representative Jozef Pollák also brought world succes to Košice.

Body-builder Rastislav Solár brought home gold medal from world championship in super heavy category.
