02/12/2011 18:30

Today on 1st of December 2011 Katka attended awarding of National Sport Center ( NŠC ) in Bratislav

This day maybe ended in a ceremonial and formal way, but for Katka it was a normal day. Today Katka trained in Bratislava and person unfamiliar with who she is, would not believe, that a small girl running in awful weather around the home Stadium of Slovan Bratislava, is the same wonderful girl receiving an award of NŠC a few hours later. Katka received her award from hands of František Chmelár ( head of Slovak Olympic committee ) and Boris Čavajda (director  of NŠC). This was first official acknowledgment that Katka is on her way to the Olympic Games 2012.  Katka gave us a bit more info than just what we saw. ,,Mr. Chmelár said to me while handing me the award that he is looking forward to us meeting again in London. This kind of voice of confidence is really what every sportsman needs. (ediors comment: Katka is currently the only woman who qualified for the Olympic Games, but a B- limit means that if another woman runs also a B-limit but better than Katka´s 2:39:11 and Katka doesn’t counter the better time that woman will go to the Olympic games.)

Together with Katka, her  trainer was also supposed to get an award, but he was absent doe to amount of work. So in this way we want to congratulate him on such a success in training field of the longest of all athletic disciplines.
